The Muthoot M. George Memorial TANKER & Kerala Kidney Research Foundation Young Investigator Award for outstanding research done in the field of Nephrology in India was awarded to Dr. Arpana Iyengar, Associate Professor, Division of Pediatric Nephrology, St John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore for her research into “Biomarkers for renal osteo-dystrophy in Indian children with chronic kidney disease”. The award carried a cash prize of Rs. 2,00,000/-, a citation and a gold medallion.


The Renny Abraham TANKER Foundation Love for Service Award for a medical doctor who has gone beyond the call of duty in serving the underprivileged was awarded to Dr. Mohan Rajan, Chairman & Medical Director of Rajan Eye Care Hospital Pvt. Ltd. & Rotary Rajan Eye Bank, Chennai. His unstinting work has given thousands of needy people the gift of sight. The award carried a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/-, a citation and a gold medallion.


The La Renon TANKER Foundation For the Sake of Honour Award was given to Dr. Brian Pereira who is a world renowned Nephrologist from Boston for his exemplary work in the field of Nephrology.The award carried a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/-, a citation and a gold medallion.


The Krishnan Ang TANKER Foundation Endowment Lecture was delivered by Dr. Brian Pereira, . His lecture was on “Solving the challenges of kidney disease – the journey of one Indian Nephrologist”.


Dance programme performed by RASA – Ramana Sunritya Aalaya. RASA founded in 1989 by Dr. Ambika Kameshwar is a unique organisation which focuses on the holistic development of children and people with disabilities through the tools of theatre like music, dance, drama, story telling, arts and crafts. This methodology is called "Theatre for Holistic Development"
