Seeing the effects of kidney disease on his patients as well as the difference that awareness and early detection can make, Dr. Georgi Abraham began the TANKER Foundation. With help from the other Members of the Board and his own in depth knowledge, Dr. Abraham hopes to help the underprivileged kidney patients as well take concrete steps to lower the incidence of the disease.
Mr. Balaje is a renowned film personality whose father had 2 kidney transplants during the course of his disease. This close knowledge of the disease and its effects motivated him to help the less fortunate who also suffered from kidney ailments.
Helped Dr. Abraham set up the TANKER Foundation and is an active managing trustee. Her background in PR helps with the running of the Foundation while her passion stems from seeing the trauma of kidney disease up close; her mother in law suffered from kidney failure.
A background in Social work as well as the personal experience of having undergone dialysis and a transplant made Mrs. Venkatesan an involved member of the board. She understands of the physical, mental and financial toll that dialysis can take on patient and through TANKER tries to alleviate the same.
Mr Venkatesan's wife has undergone the trauma of kidney ailment followed by a transplant. First hand experience with the disease prompted Mr. Venkatesan's involvement with the Foundation.
A well-known artiste, Mrs. Revathy Menon brings her time and skills to TANKER's cause. She has experience with a wide variety of philanthropic organisations, and is an active member of the board.
Mrs. Shema Abraham is part of the ABAN family and oversees the charitable activities of the company. As part of this she helps TANKER Foundation and its causes.
