The team from Tirupur dialysis unit conducted a screening camp on behalf of TANKER Foundation at NRG Fashion, Ramakrishnapuram, Tirupur, Sunday, August 25, 2024.

The enthusiastic team was guided by Dr. Mahadevan.

The team from Tirupur dialysis unit consisted of Mr. Jinu Kumar (Senior Manager of Tirupur unit), Mr. Dhivagar (Dialysis Technologist), Mr. Dhinesh (Dialysis Technologist), Mr. Varathan (Dialysis Technician), Mr. Ajith (Dialysis Technologist), Ms. Praveena (Dialysis Technician) and Ms. Gowsalya (Dialysis Technician).

In all, 100 members of the general public were screened at the camp and had their BMI and blood pressure checked and their capillary blood glucose and urine tested.

The team found that some people have diabetes and suffer from high blood pressure. Some others had protein in their urine and there were indications of urine glucose. Such people were referred to the nearby government hospital and private hospitals.

Dr. Mahadevan supplemented the screening programme by giving dietary advice to all the participants.
