TANKER Foundation’s TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team from Chennai conducted a screening camp at the Tondiarpet Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation.
In all, 105 truck drivers were screened at the camp held December 22, 2022.
Dr. Nikitha was at hand to guide the TAPP team that was represented by Mrs. Ramapriya.
Volunteer, Mrs. Anitha, was joined by two more student volunteers from ANEW Community College to help handle the camp.
The participants’ BMI and blood pressure were checked. Also, capillary blood glucose and urine tests were conducted.
The TAPP team found that most participants had urine protein and urine glucose.
They also detected some new diabetes and hypertension cases. These people were referred to the primary health centre and private hospitals.
