In all, 114 members of the public were screened by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at a camp held in Tirupur.

The screening camp, conducted Saturday, October 28, 2023, was held at Senbagam Textiles, Palladam Road, Tirupur.

Dr. Mahadevan guided the TAPP team that consisted of Tirupur dialysis unit Senior Manager, Mr. Jinu Kumar, dialysis technologist, Mr. Dhivagar, and dialysis technician, Ms. Praveena.

The TAPP team was ably supported by three students from RVS College, Coimbatore.

The participants had their BMI and blood pressure checked and their capillary blood glucose and urine tested.

The TAPP team detected diabetes and high blood pressure in some people.

Some others were found to have protein in the urine and urine glucose.

Dr. Mahadevan gave them dietary advice and referred some of the participants to nearby primary health centres and private hospitals for further action.
