38 people screened in Madurai camp

A screening camp was conducted for members of the public by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation in Madurai.

The Monday, January 30, 2023, camp was held at Kamala Nagar in Chinna Chokkikulam, Madurai.

Dr. M. Balamurugan was present to guide the TAPP team led by Madurai Co-ordinator, Mr. V. Alagumalai.

They were provided nursing assistance by four students from the Tamil Nadu Technical Training and Paramedical Institute who acted as volunteers.

The team checked the BMI and blood pressure of the 38 participants and got their capillary blood glucose and urine tested.

The TAPP team found that most people had urine protein and urine glucose.

The members also detected some new diabetes cases.

High BMI cases were identified and the people were referred to Government Rajaji Hospital and private hospitals.
