Forty senior citizens and members of the general public were screened at a camp organised by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at the Annai Bharatha Matha Educational & Charitable Trust at Red Hills, Chennai, Saturday, August 24, 2024.

The TAPP team of Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa was guided by Dr. Harish Raj.

The team was ably supported by three interns: Ms. Harini of Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, Perambur; Ms. Ammucharumathi of Soka Ikeda Arts and Science College, Madhanan Kuppam; and Ms. S. Madhu Metha from DG Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam.

The screening camp was organised at the initiative of Ms. Harini.

Since all the participants were aged, most had low blood pressure and were underweight.

Some people were found to be diabetic and had high blood pressure. Though all these factors are common in older adults, the people were referred to nearby public health centres.
