You could say it was a wholesome screening programme of the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team at the VGN Chinmaya Vidyalaya: they held a ‘screening camp’, ‘counselled’ the participants and ‘advised’ them to take part in outdoor activities.
The screening camp was held at VGN Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Avadi, under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme.
Forty-four teachers of the school participated in the camp that took place Saturday, December 3, 2022.
The tests that were carried out were for BMI, blood pressure, capillary blood glucose and protein in urine.
Dr Sharmila was at hand to guide the TAPP team that was led by TAPP Head, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, and included Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa.
Volunteer, Mrs. Anitha, ably assisted the team in carrying out the tests.
Those who had abnormal values were asked to see their physicians.
A lot of counselling was given to everyone on how to lead a healthy life.
They were also advised to take part in games and other outdoor activities to improve their health status.
