The TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation conducted a free screening camp in association with the Akila Bharata Ayyappa Seva Sangam (Mylapore Luz branch), coordinated by NGO Daasya.
The camp was held from 9.30 am, Friday, September 2, 2022, at Sri Karpagambal Kalyana Mandapam, South Mada Street, Mylapore.
The team checked the height and weight of the participants, their blood sugar and blood pressure and glucose and protein content in their urine.
In all, 55 participants were screened by the team that was led by Mrs. Ramapriya.
A lot of people were found to have high glucose in their blood.
They were counselled to take medicine regularly, have dietary control and exercise regularly.
Education material was also distributed and banners were displayed.
Ms. Sujithra, Dr. Sharmila and Mr. Arumugam helped conduct the camp successfully.
