It was a day to celebrate. The dialysis machines of the Sathyalok Shanti Lulla MWRT 10 RCCC TANKER Foundation Dialysis Center were ‘handed over’ to TANKER Foundation Saturday, March 19, 2022.
Part of the Global Grant Dialysis Project of Rotary Club of Chennai Capital RI District 3232, it will serve the people in and around Porur as it is situated in the Sathyalok Charitable Trust building at Chettiyar Agaram, Porur.
Dr. J. Radhakrishnan, Health Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, and Rotary District Governor – District 3232, Mr. J Sridhar, were the chief guests at the event.
Dr. Radhakrishnan said he understood the importance of the efforts taken for setting up the unit. So, even though the Assembly was in session, he took permission to be present for the event. He appreciated the fact that so many Rotary Clubs joined hands to enable the project. He praised TANKER Foundation for its service.
TANKER Foundation Managing-Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, explained the salient points of the project to Dr. Radhakrishnan. She thanked all those who made it possible to set up the unit.
The guests of honour were District Governor Nominee – Dist 3232, Mr. Ravi Raman, Director Dialysis Project – Dist 3232, Mr. Umapathy, President, Mr. Rajiv Sampat, Foundation Chairman Mr. Apoorva Modi, and Secretary, Mr. VeeraShivaaji.
Thirteen Rotary Clubs, including those outside India, have contributed to the project that is said to have cost Rs. 1.5 crore.

TANKER Foundation would be operating the unit on a daily basis.
