A new dialysis machine, CCTV facility for 15 centres, one desktop computer, two laptops and uniforms for TANKER staff have been donated by Aptus Value Housing Finance India Limited to the tune of Rs. 70 lakh.
Mr. M. Anandan, Founder & Executive Chairman, Aptus Value Housing Finance India Limited, and Mrs. Padma Anandan inaugurated the machine, CCTV and distributed the uniforms to the staff Friday, July 7, 2023, at The Rekha Memorial Renny Abraham Ambattur Rotary TANKER Foundation Dialysis Unit.
Mr. Nalankilli, AIEMA President, Mrs. Jyoti Vakaria, President, Rotary Club of Anna Nagar, and others participated in the event.
Mr. Anandan said he was happy to be associated with TANKER Foundation and appreciated the work they were doing for the needy with kidney failure. Aptus has helped NGOs with over Rs 4 crore donations so far, he said.
TANKER Foundation Managing-Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, welcomed the donors and expressed TANKER’s gratitude to Mrs. and Mr. Anandan’s spontaneous and generous help and AIEMA’s and Ambattur Rotary’s support for the dialysis unit.
TANKER Foundation Head Admin, Mrs. Vasanthi Ravichander, gave an update on TANKER’s activities. She said since its inception in 1993, almost 5.8 lakh dialyses have been carried out so far for over 2,607 patients, and Rs. 4 crore has been provided as assistance to 4,903 people for medication, investigation and surgery costs.
At present, 850 patients were benefitting through TANKER’s 14 dialysis units. Almost 2 lakh people have been reached out to through the awareness programmes, and 39,216 people have been screened for kidney disease.
Mrs. Vasanthi Ravichander said she was grateful to TANKER Angels on Earth, as TANKER’s dedicated staff are referred to, CMCHIS, Greater Chennai Corporation, Rotary clubs, Freemasons, corporate donors and individual donors. TANKER was grateful to the press and media for their support over the years, she said.
