When TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation wound up its awareness programme in the Madura College Higher Secondary School, in Madurai, the headmaster said the programme was so very informative that it must be taken to all schools and colleges. This was wonderful commendation for the TAPP team that goes far and wide to spread awareness on kidney health and ways to prevent kidney disease.
The awareness programme, conducted Wednesday, November 15, 2023, was held in the biology lab of the school situated in Pandi Bazaar, Madurai. Mr. Ramanan, biology teacher, gave an introduction about TANKER Foundation to the 52 students and faculty who participated in the programme.
Madurai TAPP team Co-ordinator, Mr. V. Alagumalai, gave an awareness talk on the association of blood pressure and diabetes with kidney disease.
The students wanted to know about the causes for kidney diseases and kidney stone formation. When they asked about the amount of water to be taken and sought dietary advice for kidney health, Mr. Alagumalai was able to clear all their doubts.
That was how Mr. Ravi, the headmaster of the school, got so impressed with the awareness programme that he hoped it would be conducted in all schools and colleges.
