After donating electronic BP machines to police personnel of Chennai, TANKER Foundation shifted its focus to Thoothukudi.
On Friday, October 7, 2022, TANKER Foundation Founder-Trustee, Dr. Georgi Abraham, made a visit to Thoothukudi to donate the BP apparatus to the police personnel of the southern district of Tamil Nadu.
The BP machines, 61 in number, were handed over to the district Superintendent of Police, Dr. L. Saravanan Balaji, IPS. He exhorted the police personnel to make good use of the programme and emphasised the need to maintain good health.
Dr. Saravanan Balaji thanked Dr Georgi Abraham for going the extra mile in travelling to Thoothukudi to personally hand over the BP apparatus.
Dr Georgi Abraham explained the need for the programme as the police personnel needed to be cared for, given the hard work they put in.
TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program Head, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, was also at hand to demonstrate the use of the digital BP apparatus. She gave an update on the service being rendered by TANKER Foundation.
Nephrologist, Dr. J. Subramanian, MD, DM, Nallathambi Hospital, Thoothukudi, who had made all the arrangements for the programme, welcomed the gathering.
Dr. T. Neelambujam, Senior Consultant Cardiologist, Sundaram Arulraj Hospital, Thoothukudi, gave a brief talk about the impact of high BP and cardiac issues.
TANKER Foundation family members honoured the guests and were honoured in turn.
