In all, 33 teaching and non-teaching staff of Thiruthangal Nadar College, Kodungaiyur, Chennai, were screened at a camp conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation, Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
The TAPP team was led by Dr. Sharmila, who guided the TAPP team members, Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa. Mrs. Bhuvana played well the role of volunteer.
After the screening camp, the TAPP team found that most people have been taking medicine for blood pressure and diabetes. However, for many, these conditions are not well-controlled.
Some participants were newly diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes.
Additionally, it was found that some individuals have protein and glucose in their urine.
Those who required further consultation were advised to see their doctors for treatment.
Dr. Sharmila provided dietary advice to all the participants.
