The TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of the TANKER Foundation conducted an awareness programme at the Directorate of Social Defence in Kellys, Chennai, Thursday, May 30, 2024.
The TAPP team was led by TAPP head, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, and consisted of Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa.
The participants in the programme, organised by Aruvi Foundation, were the staff and 30 juveniles who were prison inmates.
Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi gave an introductory talk, followed by Mrs. Deepa giving an awareness talk about kidney disease.
Finally, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi answered questions about kidney disease and explained how alcohol, tobacco and cannabis affect the digestive organs and kidneys.
Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi adds that the boys were very attentive and answered all the questions after the session.
The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Angeline Sheela – Coordinator of Aruvi Foundation. Mrs. Glory – Supervisor in charge of the Home, was present.
