Dr. Sharmila guided the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team members of TANKER Foundation, Mrs. Ramapriya, Mrs. Deepa, in the conduct of a screening camp in Chennai.

The Seva Bharathi Sangam and Swathantra Nagar Adi Andhra People Development Association played hosts for the camp that was held at Lloyds Road, Chepauk, Chennai, Monday, October 2, 2023.

Fifty-six members of the general public had their BMI and blood pressure checked, and their capillary blood sugar and urine tested.

Four nursing students from the Association for Non-Traditional Employment for Women (ANEW) were at hand to ably assist the TAPP team.

Diabetes and high blood pressure was detected in most participants.

Urine glucose and protein urea cases were referred to nearby primary health centres.
