The Sathyalok Shanti Lulla MWRT10 RCCC TANKER Foundation Dialysis Center was inaugurated Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Sathyalok Charitable Trust, Chettiar Agaram Road, Porur, Chennai – 600095. The unit, to be run by TANKER Foundation, is the 13th unit in the fold of the Foundation.

Madras West Round Table 10, along with Rotary Club of Chennai Capital with generous contributions from Sathyalok Trust, led by noted businessman, Mr. Sanjay Lulla, has constructed the state-of-the-art dialysis centre to serve kidney patients at highly subsidised cost.

The 5,000 sq ft dialysis centre building, housing 27 dialysis machines, was inaugurated by Mr. Sanjay Lulla, Mr. Prem Watwani and Mr. Mukesh Khubchandani of Sathyalok Charitable Trust.

Dr. Georgi Abraham, Founder Trustee, TANKER foundation, Mr. Dushyanth, Chairman, MWRT 10, Mr. Sridhar, Rotary District Governor, and Mr. Rajiv, President, Rotary Club of Chennai Capital, spoke.

Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, Managing-Trustee, TANKER Foundation, gave an update about TANKER Foundation saying that TANKER has done over 416,104 lakh dialyses so far and given over Rs. 3.39 crore as donation. TANKER has also helped set up dialysis centres in Imphal, Manipur, Kerala, MGM Pondicherry, Tanzania, Vennikulam in Kerala and Port Blair in Andamans. She thanked all TANKER staff and frontline workers for their selfless service, especially during the pandemic.

Sathyalok Charitable Trust is a non-profit trust of Porur and has been running an old age home, a school for special children and a matriculation school for the last 35 years.

Mr. Sanjay Lulla is the largest donor to create this dialysis centre in memory of his mother, Mrs. Shanti Lulla.
The Rotary Club of Chennai Capital, a leading Rotary of Disrict 3232, has come forward to supply the dialysis machines free of cost through Rotary Foundation.

The chief guests included Rotary District Governor – RID 3232, Mr. J Sridhar, and SQ. LEG Subhash Goel.

The guests of honour were Mr. Kartic Ramesh, Mr. Vijaya Raghavendra, Mr. Arpit Shah, Mr. Dileep Anirudh, Mr. Rajesh Bohara, Mr. Ambalavanan M, Mr. Ravi Raman, Mr. Ankit Shah, Mr. Vinoo Divakaran, Mr. Amit Khubchandani and Mr. Gaurav Dalal.

The project convenors are Mr. Amit Khubchandani and Mr. Sachin Nichani.
The Madras Ladies Circle 2 is involved in the project.
