TANKER Foundation Managing Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, was on the panel to discuss the topic, ‘Investing in Health and Health Research – Whose Responsibility?’, conducted as part of the three-day Kalaignar Centenary International Medical Conference on Future of Medicine.

The conference was conducted by the Department of Health & Family Welfare under the aegis of the Government of Tamil Nadu and The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai.

The conference was held from January 19 to January 21, 2024, and Mrs. Latha Kumaraswami was a panelist January 20.

Considering Mrs. Latha Kumaraswami’s rich experience in running the NGO TANKER Foundation for 30 years, the topic she was invited to speak on was ‘Scope of NGOs in Health Care and Health Research’.
The moderator for the session was Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, former Chief Scientist of World Health Organization and currently the Chairperson of M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai.
