TANKER Foundation Managing-Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, drove for Mr. Senthil, a visually challenged person, in the Brailles on Wheels car rally organised by the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC).
The team came third in the regular category.
Mrs. Latha Kumaraswami and Mr. Senthil have teamed up for 21 years.
Mrs. Latha Kumaraswami represented on behalf of TANKER Foundation, IFKF-WKA (as its first woman President) and World Kidney Day.
With a break during the pandemic, the car rally was into its 33 edition Sunday, February 26, 2023.
The rally involves a person with sight teaming up with a visually challenged person who acts as navigator for the sighted person. This year, there were 120 visually challenged people and more than 300 sighted people accompanied them.
Savera Hotel partnered with MMSC and National Association for the Blind in organising the event.
