A screening camp was conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at Bharathipuram, in S. Alankulam, Madurai. at the initiative of TANKER patient, Mr. Muthupandikumar.

The camp was held Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Mariyamman temple, in S. Alankulam.

Dr. M. Balamurugan guided TAPP Madurai Co-ordinator Mr. Alagumalai and the nursing students from Tamil Nadu Technical and Paramedical Institute, who were volunteers.

In all, 84 members of the general public participated in the camp. They had their BMI and blood pressure checked and their capillary blood glucose and urine tested.

The TAPP team found that most female participants had high BMI. It also detected some new diabetes and hypertension cases. Such people were referred to the primary health centre.

Some people have been diabetics for many years. They were advised to adopt a healthy diet.

At the end of the programme, Mr. Muthupandikumar was honoured on behalf of TANKER Foundation for organising the camp.
