A screening camp was conducted for the general public at Ayanavaram by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation.
The venue of the camp, held Tuesday, January 10, 2023, was the Sri Siva Sakthi Satsungh Trust in Ayanavaram.
Dr. Nikitha was at hand to guide the TAPP team consisting of Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa. They were assisted by volunteer, Mrs. Anitha, in screening the participants.
In all, 40 members of the general public were screened at the camp.
BMI and blood pressure were checked and capillary blood glucose and urine were tested for all the participants.
The team found that most people had urine protein and urine glucose.
Some new diabetes cases were detected, and such people were referred to the primary health centre and private hospitals.
