The TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program’s (TAPP’s) Chennai team of TANKER Foundation conducted a screening camp at the Tondiarpet Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation, for the third consecutive day.
In all, 44 truck drivers were screened at the camp held Saturday, December 24, 2022.
Dr. Nikitha guided the TAPP team that was represented by Mrs. Ramapriya. They were ably assisted by volunteer, Mrs. Anitha, and intern from Arumbakkam D.G. Vaishnav College, Mr. Venkatesh. They were joined by two students of ANEW Community College during the conduct of the camp.
The TAPP team checked the BMI and blood pressure of the participants and tested their capillary blood glucose and urine.
It was found during the camp that most people had urine protein and urine glucose. Some new diabetes cases were also detected and such people were referred to the primary health centre and private hospitals.
