In all, 37 members of the general public were screened at the screening camp conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at Arya Vysya Satram Marriage Hall in Kanchipuram.

The camp, conducted Sunday, September 24, 2023, was held at Vasavi Club, Arya Vysya Satram Marriage Hall.
Dr Harris Raj guided the TAPP team consisting of Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa. They were ably supported by Ms. Azhageswari and Ms. Swetha, interns from Madras University, and Ms. Jeevarani, an intern from D.G. Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, Chennai.

The participants had their BMI and blood pressure checked and their urine and capillary blood glucose tested.

The TAPP team found that most participants had high BMI. They also detected a number of diabetes and hypertension cases. Such people were referred to private hospitals for further treatment.

The TAPP team adds that they were welcomed by the members in a friendly manner and introduced to the participants formally.
