Forty members of the general public were screened at a camp conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) of TANKER Foundation in Madurai.
The screening camp was held Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Subhiksha Clinic in Narasingampatti Colony of Vellaripatti.
Dr. B. Rajeshwari guided the TAPP team that consisted of Madurai coordinator, Mr. V. Alagumalai, and three nursing students from TVS Community College, who acted as volunteers.
The BMI and blood pressure of the participants were checked and their capillary blood glucose and urine tested.
Finding more number of obese persons with high BMI, Dr. Rajeshwari advised diet control for all the participants.
A few, new diabetes and hypertension cases were also detected. Some of them were referred to Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai.
