A screening camp was conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation, Madurai unit, at Melur, Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Dr. Sivakumar guided the TAPP team of unit Manager, Mr. G. Samuel, TAPP Co-ordinator, Mr. Alagumalai, and dialysis technicians, Mr. Arasu and Mr. Muthukumar.

The camp that was held at Diamond Jubilee Club, saw the participation of 30 members of the general public.

They had their BMI and blood pressure checked and capillary blood glucose and urine tested.

The TAPP team found that BMI was high for some people. They were advised to reduce their weight.

The team also detected some new diabetes and hypertension cases. Some people had urine protein. The doctor gave them dietary advice.

They were also referred to the government hospital at Melur.
