A screening camp was organised by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) of TANKER Foundation at Sholavaram, Chennai, for truck drivers, Friday, May 31, 2024.
Dr. Thiyagarajan was at hand to guide the TAPP team of Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa. Ms. Nandhini ably assisted them as volunteer.
The camp was organised by the CMDA Truck Terminal Welfare Association and saw the participation of 52 truck drivers at the National Mini Transport at Sholavaram.
The truckers were checked for BMI and blood pressure and their capillary blood sugar and urine tested.
The TAPP team found that some people were overweight and had high blood pressure. Some of them were not taking medicine regularly.
The team also identified some new cases of high blood pressure and diabetes.
There were also some truckers who had protein and glucose in their urine.
