A screening camp was conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at Thamarakki, in Sivagangai district, Saturday, May 13, 2023.

The camp was conducted at the Community Hall in Thamarakki.

Dr. M. Balamurugan guided the TAPP team that consisted of Madurai TAPP team Co-ordinator, Mr. Alagumalai.

They were ably assisted by four nursing student volunteers from Tamil Nadu Technical Training & Paramedical Institute.

A total of 48 members of the public were screened at the camp.

The BMI and blood pressure of the participants were checked and their capillary blood glucose and urine, tested.

The TAPP team found that BMI was high for some people. They were advised to reduce their weight.

Most of the participants were found to have high BP, and so they were given dietary advice.

Those who had urine glucose were asked to do FBS and PPBS and see the doctor at their PHC.
