A screening camp was conducted Saturday, June 3, 2023, by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at the Municipal Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Tiruppur.

Dr. Mahadevan guided the TAPP team of Mr. Jinu Kumar, Senior Unit Manager, Tiruppur, Mr. Dhivakar and Mrs. Praveena. They were ably supported by three volunteers.

The BMI and blood pressure was checked and the capillary blood glucose and urine tested for all 54 members of the general public who participated in the camp.

The team found that the BMI was high for some people. They were advised to reduce their weight.

The team also detected some new diabetes and hypertension cases. These people were referred to their physician and public health centres for further tests and follow-up.
