TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation held a special screening camp Thursday, April 27, 2024, at Natesan Park in T. Nagar, Chennai, to raise awareness about diabetes and blood pressure impacting kidneys.
The camp was led by TAPP head, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, and her team consisting of Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa.
They were enthusiastically joined by TANKER Foundation Managing Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, Advisory Member, Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao, and Head Admin, Mrs. Vasanthi Ravichander.
In all, 125 members of the public made use of the camp where BMI and blood pressure were checked, and capillary blood glucose and urine, tested.
The TAPP team found that most people were on medication for BP and sugar. But their pressure and diabetes were not under control. Such people were referred to private hospitals and PHCs.
Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi also used the camp to provide dietary advice to the participants.
