A screening camp was conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at the Tamil Nadu Technical Training & Paramedical Institute.
The camp was conducted Monday, December 26, 2022, at Chinna Chokkikulam.
Dr. M. Balamurugan was at hand to lend his expertise to the TAPP team that was represented by Madurai Program Coordinator, Mr. V. Alagumalai.
They were ably assisted by three nursing students from the Tamil Nadu Training & Paramedical Institute.
In all 38 members of the public were screened at the camp. Their BMI and blood pressure were checked and capillary blood glucose and urine were tested.
Most of the participants had known case of diabetes, while some new cases of diabetes and hypertension were detected. They were referred to Government Rajaji Hospital for further checks.
It was also found that some participants’ BMI was above normal. They were advised diet control.
