The TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation held a screening camp at Tiruppur, guided by Dr Mahadevan.

The camp was held Wednesday, May 24, 2023, under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme at ENKAY Enterprise in Kongu Nagar Extension, Tiruppur.

The TAPP team included Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa, and Tiruppur dialysis unit manager, Mr. Jinu Kumar.
They were ably assisted by three volunteers.

Totally, 61 staff of ENKAY Enterprise and members of the general public participated in the camp.

The BMI and BP of the participants were checked and their capillary blood glucose and urine tested.

The TAPP team found that BMI was high for some people. They were advised to reduce their body weight.

Those who had urine glucose were asked to do FBS and PPBS and see the doctor at their PHC or in a private hospital.

The TAPP team members say that unfortunately, they detected quite a few people to be diabetic and having high blood pressure.
