A screening camp was conducted in memory of Mrs. Sumitra Ghose, who was part of the TANKER family, on her death anniversary, Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Dr. Harish Raj guided the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TAPP Head, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa.
They were ably assisted by Ms. S. Madhu Metha from D.G. Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, and Ms. Ammucharumathi from Soka Ikeda Arts and Science College, Madhanan Kuppam.
The screening programme was conducted in the office of the conservancy staff in Padi Pudunagar and benefited 71 conservancy staff and members of the general public.
The TAPP team found that more than 10 people had high blood sugar in spite of taking medicine for diabetes. Similarly, blood pressure was also high in a few people though they were already on medication.
The male staff were regularly consuming alcohol. High-risk cases were referred to the primary health centre and it was also suggested that they could consult the doctor at the Rotary Medical Centre, Ambattur. TANKER Foundation would bear their consultation cost.
Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi provided consultation to participants individually.
