The TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation is continuing its mission of screening truck drivers at Indian Oil Corporation.
On Friday, September 2, 2022, a camp was held at IOC ET TPL at Ennore Port which screened 98 people for kidney disease.
The team was led by Head TAPP, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, along with Mrs. Subulakshmi, Dr. Sri Teja, Mrs. Deepa and Mrs. Anitha.
A note from Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi says they found that of the people screened, a lot of people were known diabetics and also had high blood pressure. But they were not taking medicine regularly.
About 30.38 % people have been referred to Public Health Centres and government hospitals for further treatment.
A lot of awareness was created in the form of counseling each and every one of the participants. Educative materials were also handed over to everyone.
