The TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team recently launched its latest initiative, ‘Prevention Through Patient’.
TAPP Head, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, explains that they have decided to conduct awareness programmes and screening camps at the residential localities of our dialysis patients.
The idea was triggered by Ms Uma of Orgadam who invited the TAPP team to hold a screening camp in her house.
The first ‘Prevention Through Patient’ camp will be held at Mogappair and was initiated by dialysis patient, Mr. Karthick.
Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi and her team met Mr. Abraham, President, Construction Workers Welfare Association, at Mogappair.
They are planning to conduct a screening camp for the construction workers at Mogappair. They do not have any office premises. They operate from the pavement near MMM Hospital signal.
So, the TAPP team has planned to conduct a screening camp Sunday May 28, 2023, there. “We have agreed to bear the expenses of hiring chairs, tables and shamiana,” adds the TAPP head.
She describes this as a pilot programme and that they may, if required, conduct the camp once a month.
The camp will be held between 8 am and 10 am.
