It was another day of fun and more when the staff of TANKER Foundation met at Mahabalipuram for an outing Sunday, August 21, 2022.
The day began with members of all the Chennai units boarding three buses to Radisson Blu Temple Bay resort at Mahabalipuram.
Members of the Vellore unit, who turned in coordinated pink dresses, joined the group at the resort a little later.
Earlier, the Chennai group stopped for breakfast at ECR Dhaba at Kovalam and got to meet staff from the different units.
Once the event began at Temple Bay resort, after a refreshing welcome drink, it was non-stop fun, filled with high energy. All credit to Radisson staff, Mr Lenin, who conducted games for close to two hours. The games were not just for team building but also for honing leadership skills.
Then came the performances by the TANKER staff. There was huge variety and the staff proved that they are not just dedicated staff but also talented in many other ways.
A few of them sang beautifully, while some danced to music. There was guitar playing and one staff member produced great music using her mobile. Special mention must be made for the skits put out by the Ambattur unit staff and the Admin staff of T. Nagar office which drew loud applause.
The 100-odd staff members were treated to a sumptuous lunch and then it was time to break up. Some of them voted to go to Mahabalipuram while others visited the beach belonging to the resort.
It was heartening to note that TANKER Foundation Founder-Trustee, Dr Georgi Abraham, joined the picnic for a brief while. As did advisory members, Ms. Rohini Menon and Mrs. Padma and enabler, Mrs. Usha.
There was a lottery and prizes distributed at the end of the day.
A cake was cut by those who celebrated their birthday or wedding anniversary in August.
The outing came to an end with high tea provided by the courteous staff of Radisson Blu.
TANKER Foundation Managing-Trustee thanked all the TANKER staff profusely for participating in the picnic and for their selfless service, calling them Angels on Earth.
She impressed upon them that each one of them was a ‘Suriya’, TANKER’s Ambassador.
The staff members were pleasantly tired when they bid goodbye to each other and boarded their buses back to their destination.
The outing enabled staff members to make new friends, put a face to a WhatsApp number and, most importantly, to bond in the TANKER family.
