The sleepy town of Coonoor woke up to some happy news for kidney patients recently. The Rotary Club of Nilgiris threw open a 6-bed dialysis unit at the Lawley Government Hospital in Coonoor. This is the latest service rendered by the club, which has been serving society at various levels. The Rotarians have acknowledged the advice and guidance rendered by TANKER Foundation in setting up the facility that will serve kidney patients of Coonoor and places like Kotagiri, who earlier had to travel every week to Coimbatore or Ooty for their dialysis needs.
