Looking at the picture you could mistake it for a textile ad. Far from it. It is the women staff of the Valluvarkottam dialysis unit showing off the gift from Advisory Member, Ms. Rohini Menon.
On October 3, 2021, the unit staff were honoured by Tamizhnadu Vaazh Anaithu Makkal Nala Iyakkam and Tamizh Marai Arakattalai for their work during the pandemic. They were individually given certificates of appreciation under the Medical Ratna Awards 2021. Each one of them was honoured as a ‘Covid Warrior’.
The women staff turned up smartly in sarees, as per the dress code suggested by Ms. Rohini Menon, TANKER’s Advisory Member, for the function that took place at Nungambakkam. Ms. Rohini Menon not only congratulated them on their winning the honour but also for following the dress code.
For her part, she presented them with sarees Thursday, October 7, 2021. The overwhelmed staff thanked Ms. Rohini Menon and said everyone liked the colours she had selected for them.
