It warms our heart that Rotary Club of Madras East (RCME) Trust and Cognizant Foundation together recently donated a 40-bed Covid-19 care unit to the Voluntary Health Service (VHS) in Chennai just as the second wave of the Corona pandemic is raging.
The VHS facility has been set up at a cost of Rs. 1.11 crore and is equipped with oxygenated beds and medical infrastructure to provide critical care for Covid patients.
Our happiness comes from the fact that Cognizant and RMCE have been great supporters of TANKER Foundation.
Cognizant donated Rs. 50 lakhs for 8 machines for the Madurai dialysis unit and, recently, Cognizant Foundation pumped in more than Rs. 17 lakhs to buy Covid PPE kits for our staff.
RCME has been equally supportive by setting up our Valluvarkottam dialysis unit. They are also planning to fund another project with Greater Chennai Corporation.
