The 20th World Kidney Day is observed March 13, 2025.
The theme for this year is: ‘Are your Kidneys OK? Detect Early, Protect Kidney Health’.
This call to action is for people with a high risk for kidney disease to undergo targeted testing. Simple, non-invasive, and cost-effective tests like BP, BMI, blood glucose, creatinine and albumin in urine, are recommended for high-risk population.
World Kidney Day is a joint initiative of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the IFKF (International Federation of Kidney Foundations-World Kidney Alliance) to promote world kidney health by reaching out to patients, caregivers, doctors, patients care organisations and kidney foundations, governments and policy-makers all over the world.

Kumaraswami, was the first woman President of the IFKF-WKA (2022 to 2024) and a Joint Steering Committee Member on the World Kidney Day Joint Steering Committee which comprises members from the ISN and the IFKF-WKA.
