The headmistress of a government school knew how to get the attention of her students during an awareness programme conducted by a team from TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) of TANKER Foundation.
The Headmistress, Ms. Sinni Rajakumari, told the students to write an essay about kidney disease and said the best three essays of students would be given mugs and certificate.
This did the trick and the students got down to write the essay and as promised, three of them got mugs and appreciation certificates.
At first, the students did not ask questions when Mrs. Deepa of the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) of TANKER Foundation gave an awareness talk about kidney health.
But the Headmistress’ plan made the students pay close attention.
The programme, held Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Government Adi Dravida Welfare School, Palavakkam, Chennai, saw the participation of 75 students and three staff members.
Mrs. Deepa was ably assisted by volunteer, Mr. Aakash, an intern from Dr. Ambedkar Government Arts College, Vyasarpadi, Chennai.
Ms. Sinni Rajakumari gave the introductory address and Mrs. Deepa gave the awareness talk about kidney disease. The students did not ask any questions; instead Mrs. Deepa asked the questions and explained them, too.
