The yearly picnic of the TANKER family is filled with fun and games, but this year’s outing on Sunday, July 30, 2023, was an exceptionally great one as we celebrated the 30th anniversary of TANKER Foundation.

Present in strength

The outing saw a good turnout of members of the TANKER family: TANKER Foundation Managing-Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, was joined by Advisory Members, Ms. Rohini Menon and Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao.

Head of the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) cum Advisory Member, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, was present along with her husband, Mr. L.G. Ravi.

Head Admin, Mrs. Vasanthi Ravichander, and DGM, Mrs Geetha, were there; so was Ambattur unit Duty Medical Officer, Dr Mangai.

TANKER IFKF-WKA Consultant, Mrs. Kausalya Padmanabhan, was present as was volunteer, Mrs. Usha Balasubramanian.

Welcome address

Mrs. Latha Kumaraswami welcomed the gathering and showered praise on everyone who had brought TANKER Foundation to where it is now. She said each one deserves appreciation for what they did / do for TANKER. She had a special word for the dedicated TANKER staff whom she calls Angels on Earth.

TANKER staff also entertain

There was roleplay, group dance, riddles, solo mash up song, group singing, mime and poem recital by the TANKER unit members and admin office team.

Singing along

The programs and games were compered by Advisory Member, Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao, who rendered a couple of hit numbers in Tamil, which got people singing along and grooving.

There were game shows that were conducted by Mr. Lenin & Team from Radisson Blu.

Bye, bye

It was an emotional moment when it was time to say goodbye to old friends and new ones made that day. But, as one staff member said, they left with a sense of gratitude and fulfilment.
