An Arterio-Venous fistula (AVF) is a pre-requisite for dialysis. This is created surgically by joining a vein to an artery near the wrist / upper hand.

Typically a fistula takes 4-6 weeks to mature.

In case of emergency dialysis, a temporary catheter is inserted near the neck region to initiate the dialysis.

The Cost of a fistula surgery ranges between ₹ 10,000 to ₹ 15,000
