Four new dialysis machines, costing Rs. 28,60,000, were donated by Sun TV Network Ltd and inaugurated by Mrs. Kavery Kalanithi, Executive Director, Sun TV Network Ltd, at The Rekha Memorial Renny Abraham Ambattur Rotary TANKER Dialysis Unit at Ambattur, Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Mrs. Kavery Kalanithi talked to the patients and staff and appreciated the work TANKER was doing for the needy with kidney failure.
TANKER Foundation Founder Director, Dr. Georgi Abraham, welcomed Mrs. Kavery Kalanithi, and said TANKER was grateful for all the support given by Sun TV Network over the years.
He said it was of great importance to create awareness of kidney disease. World Kidney Day was coming up on March 14 and he appealed for support to reach out to people for early detection of kidney disease.
TANKER Foundation Managing Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, said every donation was precious and conveyed TANKER’s gratitude to Sun TV Network Ltd, the CMCHIS, Greater Chennai Corporation, Ambattur Rotary Club and Hospital and other valuable donors for their regular support.
TANKER has done 643,056 lakh dialysis and is now helping 885 patients. Awareness programmes have been done for over 2 lakh people and screening camps, for 412,252 people for early detection of kidney disease. TANKER’s staff are Angels on Earth, who are totally selfless and dedicated to helping the needy. This generous donation will benefit all our underprivileged patients, she said.
