A total of 20 participants were found to be in the high-risk group at the screening camp held at the South India Nursing and Paramedical Institute in Nungambakkam, Chennai, by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation, Friday, September 5, 2025, for the general public. Dr. Mahadevan Balaji guided the TAPP team consisting of Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa.

Remarks: The screening camp, carried out under the guidance of Dr. Mahadevan Balaji, was helpful in discovering 24 individuals with elevated blood sugar levels (including 12 newly-diagnosed cases).
Also, 19 individuals were found with high blood pressure, 11 people with protein in urine and four people with glucose in urine.
Based on the findings, a total of 20 high-risk individuals were referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further evaluation and follow-up.
The TAPP team also provided valuable dietary advice to the participants.
