The TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation conducted an awareness programme on kidney health and a screening camp at The Indian Public School, Perungudi.
Those who participated in the programme and camp were bus drivers and other employees of the school.
The programme / camp was conducted Saturday, September 10, 2022. Ninety people attended the awareness programme and 84 people were screened for kidney problems.
People with kidney issues were referred to ESI and government hospitals for further treatment.
Mrs. Ramapariya, who led the TAPP team at the school, gave a stirring awareness talk. Each and every one of the participant was counselled,
Education materials were handed over to everyone.
It is interesting to note that the camp was the brainchild of Aakarsh Kankaria who is studying in class 11 in Chennai Public School and interning with TANKER Foundation during his leisure hours. He organised the camp and even gave the introduction talk about TANKER Foundation and the TAPP team.
Dr. Nikitha, Ms. Priyadarshini from Admin, volunteer, Mrs. Anitha, and four interns helped conduct the programme / camp.
