TANKER Foundation handed over 280 electronic BP machines, as part of its awareness and prevention drive, to Mr. Shankar Jiwal, IPS, DGP / Commissioner of Police, Chennai.

The event took place September 13, 2022, at the Commissioner’s Office at Vepery, Chennai.

TANKER Foundation Founder-Trustee, Dr Georgi Abraham, with an aim of taking care of the police force, who are frontline workers, proposed the idea of distributing BP apparatus to all the police stations in a phased manner throughout Tamil Nadu.

High blood pressure, not attended to, is one of the main causes for kidney failure.

Booklets were distributed along with the machines for the readings to be recorded and to follow up with them, to caution and advise those who were found to be at risk.

CoP Mr. Jiwal appreciated TANKER Foundation for what it was doing and thanked the NGO.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Georgi Abraham, a world famous nephrologist, gave an awareness talk emphasising the need to take care of one’s kidneys.

TANKER Foundation Head Admin, Mrs. Vasanthi Ravichander, gave an update on what TANKER has been doing on the ground. She thanked TANKER Foundation Managing-Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, for her wonderful contribution to TANKER over the years.
