Around 150 students of classes 8 and 9 of Government Higher Secondary School, Salavakkam, Uthiramerur, in Kanchipuram district, participated actively in the awareness programme conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation, Thursday, September 11, 2025. TAPP program co-ordinator, Mr. Hemeshwaran, gave an insightful presentation on maintaining kidney health.

Remarks: The kidney awareness programme conducted at Government Higher Secondary School, Salavakkam, saw the participation of around 150 students from 8th and 9th standards, including teachers.
The session was led by Mr. Hemeshwaran, who highlighted the importance of maintaining kidney health through simple daily practices.
He emphasised drinking an adequate amount of water regularly, avoiding the habit of holding urine when it is urgent, and following healthy lifestyle habits to prevent kidney-related issues.
The programme was interactive and helped create awareness among the students and teachers about the importance of kidney care and early prevention.
