The Daasya Trust and Puducherry Kalam Pasumai Pathukappu Iyakkam and TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation jointly organised a screening camp, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Vettavalam village, in Tiruvannamalai. The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. K. Pichandi.

Remarks: The screening camp was organised by Daasya Trust and Puducherry Kalam Pasumai Pathukappu Iyakkam at the house of its founder Arokiyadas.
The camp was inaugurated by the Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Mr. K. Pichandi.
In all, 29 individuals were found with elevated blood sugar levels (including 10 newly-diagnosed cases).
Also, 10 individuals were identified with high blood pressure and protein was detected in the urine of one individual, and glucose in the urine of 15 individuals.
A total of 37 high-risk individuals were referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further evaluation.
The session highlighted the importance of preventive care; dietary guidance; lifestyle modifications; and early detection in managing kidney-related ailments.
Mr. Pichandi was honoured with the TANKER memento, which is a personalised, special, ceramic mug containing the images of the TANKER trustees, the Goodwill Ambassador and some patient-beneficiaries, for his presence and encouragement.
