The 33rd machine in the Rekha Renny Ambattur Rotary TANKER Foundation Dialysis Center, donated by Disha Charitable Trust, was inaugurated by Mr. Venkat Ramanathan, Trustee, and members of The Disha Charitable Trust at the Ambattur Rotary Hospital Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
Mr. Venkat Ramanathan said Disha Charitable Trust was an initiative of the employees of the Franklin Templeton Group and has been contributing to TANKER Foundation regularly for dialysis for over 8 years. They had earlier donated a dialysis machine to the Valluvarkottam dialysis unit. They were deeply appreciative of the work being done by TANKER and would continue to help in the years to come, he said.
TANKER Foundation Founder-Trustee, Dr Georgi Abraham, said TANKER was blessed to have Disha Charitable Trust as a donor, and said along with the known causes of kidney disease, TANKER was spearheading research into kidney disease of unknown causes also.
TANKER Foundation Managing-Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami gave an update of TANKER and said so far TANKER has done more than 4.4 lakh free and subsidised dialysis through its 12 dialysis centres thanks to valuable support from CMCHIS, Greater Chennai Corporation and various Rotary Clubs, Inner Wheel, Freemasons, Round Table, Ladies Circle, several corporates and other valuable donors.
Mrs. Sudha Rao, Advisory Member, TANKER Foundation, rendered the prayer song which was a bunch of selected and meaningful Tirukkural couplets. Mrs. Vasanthi Ravichander, Head Admin, proposed the vote of thanks.
