Governor of Telangana and Lt Governor of Puducherry, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, will inaugurate the Young Kidney 2023 event organised by the Department of Pediatric Nephrology & Pediatrics, Dr Mehta’s Hospitals, at Hotel Radisson Blu, Egmore, Chennai, Saturday, July 1, 2023.

The Department of Pediatric Nephrology at Dr. Mehta’s Hospitals is organising the event in collaboration with organisations like the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA), International Society of Nephrology (ISN), Indian Society of Pediatric Nephrology (ISPN), Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Women in Nephrology India (WIN), TANKER Foundation, and childrenkidneycare.com. Their collective expertise and support ensured a comprehensive and impactful program.

Talking about the ‘Dr. Georgi Abraham 1st Annual Oration’ being hosted by the hospital, Dr Kalaivani Ganesan, Head of the Department of Pediatric Nephrology – Dr Mehta’s Hospitals, said, “Dr Georgi Abraham has been a guiding force, a teacher and a treating physician par excellence over decades. We take this opportunity to acknowledge his selfless services to the community as a doctor and teacher. Under the patronage of Dr Georgi Abraham, Senior Consultant in the Department of Nephrology at MGM Healthcare, the conference commenced with the inaugural session of the 1st Annual Oration.”

She added that he emphasised the importance of a comprehensive approach encompassing ongoing clinical care and timely acute interventions to ensure the best possible outcomes for children with kidney disorders.

Focussed on the theme ‘Pediatric Nephrology – Clinical to Acute Care’, the three-day event that began Friday, June 30, 2023, is bringing together renowned medical experts and enthusiasts from the Pediatric Nephrology Departments across the globe to discuss knowledge on managing kidney-related diseases / disorders in children.
